Instilling Shamy headcanons- Amy moving in with Sheldon
As mentioned by Sursonica, I was dumbfounded with the way Amy and Sheldon were thinking about the situation in this episode. Take note that Amy said that she’ll be his perfect roommate that she even got excited with the prospect of checking out Leonard’s room to place her waterbed. She sees this as a mere opportunity as a mere chance to be living within close proximity with her boyfriend. Meanwhile, Sheldon begged Leonard to go back because Amy moving in means it “marks a level of intimacy” their relationship isn’t ready for. What’s making the situation worse for him is that she has offered PERFECTLY LOGICAL reasons for her to be his roommate. It’s not that he doesn’t want her living with him. Heck, he mentioned he’s troubled that she makes the case for being the perfect replacement for Leonard. His problem is from the fact that she’s not just a mere roommate for him. She’s more than a roommate, and that’s what troubles him. He has just revealed how a physical relationship between him and Amy is possible someday, and that he’s working on it. Somehow, living with Amy means that they have advanced much further in their relationship within or even beyond the addition of a physical aspect. It’s surprising because if Amy was thinking of the same thing as what Sheldon realized, then she would have offered they share the same bed and not have her waterbed in the other room.
Also, AMY HAS A WATERBED. IT’S JIGGLY, SQUISHY AND DESIRABLE. THAT IS ALL.
When Sheldon mentioned something about servant eating downstairs and PBS shows, some people said it was Upstairs,Downstairs and some instantly thought of Downton Abbey. Of course, I have no clue but I did think about Downton Abbey and that it’s now my headcanon that it’s in the newly-amendment Relationship Agreement. They watch Doctor Who repeats and Star Trek Marathons on weekends, and Amy can call him to watch Downton Abbey whenever the fucking hell she wants no matter what Sheldon says. He’d still agree with her anyway.
Oh, and they watch TV while holding hands. Yes, too corny but IDGAF.
Instilling Shamy Headcanons- That’s just yucky.
At first glance, I never realized this scene had a very simple and yet direct message. Sheldon used Penny’s drinking from Leonard’s cup a proof that they are in a stable relationship simply in the fact that Penny was willing to drink “the witch’s brew of soda and Leonard’s spit” which was “yucky”. He took away the soda because Amy doesn’t need to drink from his cup just to prove to the world that they are in a stable relationship and that they have no plans to end their pairbonding. And that drinking from anybody’s cup is still yucky, no matter what it proves.
Instilling Shamy Headcanon- Contrary to other people’s opinions, I think they were spot on in showing how Amy could really get straight to the point with him and get what she was asking for— well, from his own Sheldon-y way. She asked for a REAL apology, she got one. She asked for something from the heart, he modified what Peter told MJ to make it his own. He could have quoted anything else, but why that? Based from what I said in my initial freakout, even Peter made an excuse and used Spiderman as a way of expressing to his girl how he truly felt.
Instilling Shamy Headcanons- If “The Book [about sex]” was infernal, then their roleplaying brought him to hell. Oh, tbbt writers, you amuse me much.
Instilling Shamy Headcanons- The Book
I don’t know if this will makes sense but ever since I saw episode 5.23 where Sheldon mentioned how he finally read the book, I always thought it had something to do with how he could treat Amy better. Prior to that episode, he made a joke with sexual reference in Howard’s Stag Party. Also, he had a nightmare too. Whether he was talking about that nightmare or another one, I’ll always think all these things were connected. But don’t you see? It was so timely that he has read the book and that Amy was in a campaign to increase his feelings for her, thus the start of him having affectionate feelings for her at inappropriate times. And what boggles me most is that how in the world does he know Amy has pale shoulders? The woman is covered in layers! So, has he seen those in person? Or did he just imagined them? If it was the latter, then he was fantasizing about freaking her shoulders!
What has this vixen done to him?
Instilling Shamy Headcanons- Sheldon’s Amyface
And in these moments, he was vulnerable… The moments in which Amy finally got him. I’m pretty certain Mrs. Cooper told Amy to take her time with Sheldon. Or maybe not. Regardless, she didn’t give up on him. And she knows what she was doing. Like Mrs. Cooper, she knows how to push his buttons very well. When he tried to be a condescending jerk in her lab, she told him point blank that she wanted an apology, and she got one. When she tried to increase his feelings for her, she succeeded. Sheldon’s moments of vulnerability are strong evidences of how she was able to give him the necessary push he needed. Amy, the hotsy-totsy from Glendale. Sheldon’s catalyst.
