I just wanted to thank the writers of TBBT again for the ending of season five. When Sheldon took hold of Amy’s hand it wasn’t just instinct for him. It took him real courage. My guess is that he did it because he wants Amy to be there for all of the best moments of his life, and when he stores them as memories he wants her to to be in all of them.
